New dcTrack Connector for Dell® OpenManage Enterprise

Dell® OpenManage Enterprise (OME) is a management and monitoring application that provides information about Dell servers, chassis, storage, and network switches across the enterprise network.

Sunbird’s new Dell OME connector programmatically pulls data from Dell OME into dcTrack, driving automation and giving you a single pane of glass with complete information across all your Dell assets.

What Does the Integration Do?

The Dell OME connector for dcTrack integrates:

• Hardware configuration data including CPU type, quantity, socket count, cores per socket, RAM (GB), RAM slots, RAM summary, disk capacity, drive count, drive summary, PSU count, PSU summary, PCI card count, and PCI card summary.
• Warranty information including Contract Start and End dates are automatically updated to keep renewal tracking current.
• Real-time telemetry including Inlet Temperature (°C), Actual Power (W), and fan summary.
• Console access with Virtual Console IP and URL mapped to each device, enabling one-click access to the iDRAC management interface directly from dcTrack.

Standard dcTrack fields such as Make, Model, Serial Number, Name, and Location remain managed by dcTrack as the system of record. The hardware configuration, warranty, and telemetry fields are owned by Dell OME and kept current through the integration.

How Does the Connector Work?

The connector runs on a configurable polling interval and automatically syncs data from Dell OME into dcTrack without any manual intervention. Assets are matched between the two systems by serial number and data flows in one direction from Dell OME to dcTrack.

How to Get the Dell OME Connector

The Dell OME connector is available on Sunbird's addons site. A valid maintenance contract and support portal login are required to download it.

To provide integration that is easy, fast, and complete, the download file includes the base connector, step-by-step instructions to install it, a custom field import sheet, and a business rule to automatically update and calculate fields.

What About Other Server Management Platforms?
