What’s New in dcTrack 9.3.7

The following are some of the new features and enhancements in dcTrack 9.3.7 for an easy, fast, and complete second-generation DCIM solution.

Ease of Use Improvements

dcTrack 9.3.7 includes several updates that reduce manual effort and make routine tasks faster, including:

• Grid customizations in subtabs of detail pages automatically save. Users can now sort, reorder, resize, and show or hide columns in the grids on subtabs of many detail pages, and dcTrack saves those settings automatically for each user.
• Default rack position for discovered sensors. Sensors from Power IQ now have their “height in rack” left unset in dcTrack, and the 3D floor map visualization shows them at the floor of the cabinet so users can spot them and set the correct height.
• Import Port Alias and Port Status. Users can update the Port Alias and Port Status fields through an import, which saves manual effort and time. Both fields are also included in the ODBC views for power and data ports.

Integration Enhancements

This release gives administrators more control over how dcTrack syncs with ServiceNow and other external data sources.

• Pause or stop asset integration. Temporarily pause or permanently unlink integrated assets between dcTrack and ServiceNow or other external systems. This prevents unwanted sync activity and gives administrators more control over data integrity.
• Option to disable integrations when restoring from backup. Administrators can disable integrations during a backup restore, so the restore doesn’t trigger sync activity with integrated production systems. This reduces manual effort and human error.
• Dashboard widget trend charts from external data sources. Trend charts can now use time-series data from external sources integrated through the UniversalConnector G2. This brings that data into capacity planning, correlation, and what-if analysis in dcTrack’s single pane of glass.
• API support for Make alias. When you create a new model through the public API, dcTrack now recognizes the alias of a Make, which reduces integration errors.

dcTrack 9.3.7 also includes Red Hat OpenShift container deployment, OAuth2 scope support for CMDB and ticketing integrations, set how ServiceNow connector determines CI tables to integrate with, inclusive date range for audit log and user list, and Make and Model field mappings no longer required in ServiceNow connector.
