New dcTrack Connector for NetBox

NetBox is an open-source platform used for network infrastructure management and documentation, helping organizations track networks, devices, IP addresses, circuits, and racks.

Sunbird’s new NetBox connector programmatically pulls device, port, and cabling data from NetBox into dcTrack using a preconfigured base XML connector, driving automation and giving you a single pane of glass and single source of truth across your entire infrastructure.

What Does the Integration Do?

The NetBox connector for dcTrack enables:

• Hardware syncing. Pulls manufacturer, model, serial number, device role, and operational status for matched assets directly from NetBox into dcTrack.
• Location mapping. Maps NetBox site data to the dcTrack location to maintain accurate physical placement records.
• Network port and cabling data integration. Automatically updates dcTrack with port details, IP addresses, and cabling attributes.

How Does the Connector Work?

The connector runs on a configurable polling interval and automatically syncs data from NetBox into dcTrack without manual intervention. Assets are matched between the two systems using the NetBox device name mapped to the dcTrack alias field, and data flows in one direction from NetBox into dcTrack. The base connector is extensible to include additional custom field mapping from both systems.

The NetBox connector is available on Sunbird's addons site. A valid maintenance contract and support portal login are required to download it.
